Goldeck - Gold Diggers on the Trail
The name Goldeck is associated with the local occurrence of the precious metal. Here we can follow the traces of the gold diggers and maybe we will see some of the golden precious metal, but our way also leads us to the Martennock, the mountain whose summit cross is visible from far away and which you have surely already discovered from the valley.

Description: | From the mountain station of the Goldeck valley railway (1,780 m) the hiking trail leads gently uphill over the Kälberriegel to the summit of the Goldeck (2,139 m) and on over a wide ridge to the striking summit cross of the Martennock (2,039 m). A wonderful panoramic view of the three thousand metre peaks of the Central Alps, but also of the Carnic and Julian Alps is granted to everyone here. The way back leads via the picturesquely situated Goldeck hut and the Krendlmar basin to the Goldeck valley railway. |
